Another post by me after i managed to save some time from my busy schedule. I had a rather quiet weekend, been doing some work and playing dota for like 2 hours a day.. makes any coghizant individual restless and torpor. However, i still had quite a fair bit of fun yesterday as it happened to be my beloved cousin's birthday. Me And TW locked ourselves up in my JQ's room and dota'ed to our hearts content XD. In a swift blink of an eye, its sunday night.. and i am listlessly sitting in front of my HP laptop posting something on my blog. Soon in about 12 hours or more, it will be time for my Mother tongue oral examinations.. Even if my chinese is bad, i will not relinquish my faith and would try my best to ace it. Now, as the examinations draw close, so as certain people's dooms. Many people live their school life with a carefree mindset, hence their studying time is reduced and their awareness of how important O lvls are, are slackened to a significant amount. When i rebuke some people for not studying hard, they tend to become extremely apprehensive and recant anything i said. Next they will start treating me like a contemptible humbug just because i introduced to them a little something known as- REALITY. Unfortunately for singaporeans, we live in a much detested meritocracy society which only recgonises merit and contributions made for both ourselves and the country. This is fairly different system from america, germany etc. Let me provide everyone with an analogy. In germany, the sum of money made by a painter and the salary made by a lawyer may not have a lot of different. However, in singapore, there is a HUGE difference in the salary of a painter and a Lawyer. This is an onerous thought to many people but this is reality. So as students, what differentiates a outstanding student, or a mediocre student? I presume that the answer is fairly obvious. As i stare out at the Dark vapid sky and the bright starry stars, i keep thinking if i of all these important topics which can determine the course of a person's life.
